Your first 10 minutes
A short setup that gets SecBot working for you instead of the other way around. Do these in order. Steps 1–3 need a subscription.
1. Add your names to a watchlist
Open Watchlist, go to the Tickers tab, and add the tickers you actually trade or hold. Search by ticker or company and pick the match. A subscription covers up to 50 tickers. Your tracked names feed the Activity tab, a running stream of filings, insider trades and other events on just those companies.
Then put them into a group or two, for example "Core holdings" and "Biotech". Alerts target groups, so this is what lets you treat different names differently.
2. Create your first alert rule
On the Alerts tab, start from a template such as Insider buying, Earnings beats & misses or High-impact bearish filings, then point it at one of your groups. Common starting points:
- Insider Trades and Institutional if you follow smart-money flow.
- Earnings Beats / Misses and Analyst Ratings if you trade catalysts and the street's reaction.
- FDA & Biotech if you trade biotech.
- Price Moves with a 10% minimum if you want to hear about big daily swings.
Set a Minimum impact score on scored categories to keep the noise down. Then check delivery and quiet hours so alerts reach you the right way and not at 3 a.m. Rules are explained in full in Alert rules.
3. Connect Telegram
Link the bot once and your alerts arrive as direct messages. Generate a code on the Telegram tab and send it to @SecBotAlertsBot. Walk through it in Connecting Telegram. If you'd rather not use Telegram, turn on the Email Digest instead.
4. Read the morning brief
Open Daily Analysis before the open. It pulls the whole board together: what's moving, where money is rotating, the key levels, and the names worth watching into the session. Two minutes here sets your day. Narratives is a good second stop for the themes leading the tape.
5. Filter the feed to your style
Back on the Intelligence Feed, try the source chips and the Impact slider. Push impact higher to see only the events that score as significant. When you land on a filter you like, save it as a preset so it's one click next time.
That's it. From here, the tutorials show how traders chain these together into a repeatable routine.
