FAQ — alerts

When alerts go quiet, it's almost always one of a handful of settings. Work down this list and you'll find it.

Why am I not getting alerts?

Check these in order:

  • Is your subscription active? Alerts are a subscriber feature. The badge in the top bar shows your days remaining, and /status in the bot shows it too.
  • Do you have a rule? Tracking a ticker isn't enough on its own. Alerts come only from rules on the Alerts tab. See Alert rules.
  • Is the ticker in the rule's scope? Each rule targets one group or a list of specific tickers. Make sure the name is in that group or list.
  • Is the rule on, and not auto-paused? A rule that fired more than 15 times in 10 minutes is paused until you edit it or click Resume.
  • Do the filters fit the event? A sentiment or minimum-score filter blocks events that carry no score, such as analyst ratings. A high score floor blocks most news.
  • Is a channel on? Under Delivery & quiet hours, at least one of Telegram DM or Email Digest must be on.
  • Is Telegram linked and unmuted? Send /status to the bot. If it says muted, send /unmute. See Connecting.
  • Did it land in quiet hours? Telegram DMs inside your quiet window are skipped and not re-sent.

The alert log shows what happened to every matched alert, which answers most of these at a glance.

Should I use email or Telegram?

Telegram is instant, so most active traders rely on it. The email digest gathers the day's alerts into one 6 AM email, which works well as a written record or for slower-moving names. You can turn on either or both.

Can I set different alerts for different tickers?

Yes. That's what groups are for. Put names into groups, such as "core holdings" and "biotech binaries", and give each group its own rule with its own categories, sentiment and score floor. There are no separate per-ticker override settings; groups and rules do that job.

Can I get alerted when a stock hits a certain price?

Not a fixed price level. The Price Moves category alerts on a daily percentage move, at least 5% up or down against the prior close, and fires again at each further step. See Price moves.

My alerts are too noisy. What do I change?

Raise the rule's Minimum impact score, narrow it to Specific events, split your tickers into tighter groups, and add quiet hours. The tutorial Alerts that actually matter walks through it step by step.
