Halts & Listings

Halts & Listings tracks trading halts, the Reg SHO threshold list and listing status changes in one place. A halt usually means news is coming or something is wrong, and either one can gap a stock hard when it reopens.

The Halts & Listings pageHalts, the Reg SHO threshold list and listing changes side by side.

The top of the page

The ticker filter at the top (Filter by ticker (e.g. GME)) applies to every section. Below it, four stat cards: Halted right now, Halts · last 7 days, On Reg SHO list and Listing changes.

Halted right now

Halts with no resumption yet that started within the last 7 days.

Halt history

A table of halts, newest first, 15 per page:

  • Status: HALTED, Resumed, or "—" for older halts where the resumption wasn't captured
  • Halted (ET), Ticker, Company, Reason, Resumed

Reason codes are shown in plain English. The common ones:

  • T1 News pending, T2 News released, T3 Reopening soon
  • T5 Volatility pause (more than 10% in 5 minutes)
  • T12 Info requested
  • H4 Non-compliance, H9 Filings overdue, H11 Regulatory halt
  • H10 SEC suspension, the most serious kind
  • LUDP / M Volatility pause (automatic limit-up/limit-down or volatility pause)
  • MWC1, MWC2, MWC3 Market-wide halt

TIP

A T1 or T2 halt is usually a news event and tends to reopen with a gap. H-codes, and H10 above all, point to regulatory trouble. Volatility pauses are routine and usually clear within minutes.

Reg SHO threshold list

The current members of the list: securities with failures to deliver of 10,000+ shares and 0.5%+ of shares outstanding for 5 consecutive settlement days.

  • Columns: Ticker, Security, Days on list, Shares short, Days to cover, % of shares out
  • Short-interest figures are the latest FINRA snapshot.
  • % of shares out is an estimate from market cap ÷ price, not % of float.

Listing changes

Up to 100 rows, each with date, severity and title: new listings, delistings, and changes to Nasdaq's financial-status flag: D = Deficient, E = Delinquent, Q = Bankrupt (and combinations).

How often it updates

  • Halts: checked every minute on trading days, roughly 7:00–20:20 ET.
  • Reg SHO list: every 2 hours.
  • Listing directory: every 6 hours.

Sources are the official Nasdaq halt and Reg SHO files and FINRA short interest.

Access

Everything below the stat cards is blurred for non-subscribers. For rows less than 24 hours old, the halt reason, resumption time and issue name show as Hidden. Subscribers see them in real time. See Plans & access.
